Freestyles

Freestyle sessions are designated times for skaters to take private lessons or practice independently in preparation for tests or competitions. Skaters may play their program music during these sessions. All skaters must check in at the front desk before entering the ice. Lesson fees are paid directly to the coach.

Level

All levels and disciplines of skaters are welcome during freestyle sessions. Skaters and parents are required to follow all posted freestyle guidelines. Please note: Learn to Skate (LTS) practice passes are not valid for this or any freestyle session.

Freestyle Session Policies

To ensure a safe and productive training environment, all skaters and parents must follow the freestyle guidelines below. Failure to comply may result in removal from the ice without refund or credit.

  • Check-In Required: Skaters must register and check in before stepping on the ice. Skating outside your registered session may result in loss of privileges.

  • LTS Passes Not Valid: Learn to Skate practice passes are not valid for freestyle sessions.

  • No Food/Drink on Ice: Only water bottles are allowed.

  • Clean Up: Skaters must remove all personal items before leaving the ice.

  • No Standing/Stopping: Only stop near the rail. Do not talk to the viewing area from the ice.

  • Parent Interactions: Conversations with skaters must take place in the lobby. Parents providing instruction will result in removal from the session.

  • Authorized Coaching Only: Only approved coaches with proper credentials may instruct.

  • No Headphones or Devices: Personal music devices and on-ice video use by skaters are not allowed.

  • Music & Right of Way: Skaters “In Program” have priority. Coaches may cut into the music queue during lessons.

  • Lutz Zones: All corners are designated jump zones. Spins must stay at center ice.

  • Conduct Expectations: Show respect, stay focused, and avoid disruptive behavior (e.g., shouting, kicking, foul language).

  • Session Eligibility: Skaters may only participate in sessions appropriate for their level.

  • Prompt Exit: All skaters must exit the ice immediately at the end of the session.

  • Staff Authority: Staff may enforce rules at any time. Disrespect or noncompliance may lead to revoked skating privileges.
